Croatia largest foreign investor in Bosnia and Herzegovina

ZAGREB, 28 Aug (Hina) – Croatia was the largest source of foreign investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in 2024, accounting for almost a quarter of the total, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina reported.
Croatia invested €211.7 million in BiH last year, followed by Germany, with foreign investments of around €130.3 million. Slovenia ranked third, contributing €126.9 million.
Most investment last year was directed to the financial services sector, which attracted €257.6 million.
Retail came second with €112.6 million, followed by wholesale with €104.6 million.
In 2024, total foreign direct investment (FDI) in BiH amounted to approximately €899.5 million, down from €1.05 billion in 2023.
The Central Bank noted that since it began keeping statistics, total FDI in the country stood at €10.83 billion by the end of 2024, with Croatia holding the largest share at €1.64 billion, representing 15.2% of all foreign investment.
