Croatia Airlines receives new Airbus A220 ‘Zadar’

ZAGREB, 30 August 2025 – Croatia Airlines has today welcomed its sixth new Airbus A220-300 aircraft in Zagreb, continuing the national carrier’s major fleet renewal programme.
The latest addition, registered as 9A-CAP and named “Zadar”, arrived directly from Airbus’ manufacturing facility in Mirabel, Canada.
With a seating capacity of 149 passengers, the A220-300 is designed to improve efficiency, passenger comfort, and operational reliability across the airline’s expanding network.

With the arrival of “Zadar”, Croatia Airlines now operates six Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
This brings the total fleet to 16 aircraft, which also includes four Airbus A319s, two Airbus A320s and four Dash 8-Q400s.

The modernisation of the fleet began last year and is set to continue in the coming months. By the end of 2025, Croatia Airlines expects the delivery of its first Airbus A220-100, which will seat 127 passengers.

The entire renewal project is scheduled for completion by 2027, when Croatia Airlines plans to operate a single-type fleet of 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft – 13 A220-300s and two smaller A220-100s.
