Croat Tops iTunes Charts With The Beatles And David Bowie

Croatian musician Thompson has become the first Croatian artist to have an album at the top of the official iTunes international music charts.

Marko Perkovic, better known by his stage name Thompson, a nick name given to him whilst he fought in the Croatian War of Independence originating from the Thompson submachine gun, released his latest studio album “Ora et labora” on 11 April and since then it has broken all records, says Croatia Records.

Sales from all corners of the globe saw the first 500 copies sell out in just two hours. In Germany, Switzerland and Austria “Ora et labora” is in the top five most sold albums, together with some big names in the music industry such as The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, AC/DC and Eric Clapton.
