Cro Cop Sets Up Madison Square Garden Date After K-1 Win

Croatian kickboxing legend Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic has beaten the much fancied American Randy Blake in front of 13,000 fans in Japan on Sunday. Cro Cop beat Blake in the K-1 Final 16 event in his first fight back in Japan in over four years.

Cro Cop has not lost a fight under K-1 rules in 11 years and the victory over the 13-years younger Blake assures the 38-year-old a place in the final 8 which will be held at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden.

The fight, which Cro Cop won on a referee’s decision, did not pass without controversy when Blake knocked the Croatian down after he put his hand out to apologise for an incident in the fight. The K-1 Final 8 is scheduled to take place in New York on 26 December.
