Cro Cop Sets Up Madison Square Garden Date After K-1 Win

Croatian kickboxing legend Mirko¬†“Cro Cop” Filipovic has beaten the much fancied American Randy Blake in front of 13,000 fans in Japan on Sunday. Cro Cop beat Blake in the K-1 Final 16 event in his first fight back in Japan in over four years.

Cro Cop has not lost a fight under K-1 rules in 11 years and the victory over the 13-years younger Blake assures the 38-year-old a place in the final 8 which will be held at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden.

The fight, which Cro Cop won on a referee’s decision, did not pass without controversy when Blake knocked the Croatian down after he put his hand out to apologise for an incident in the fight. The K-1 Final 8 is scheduled to take place in New York on 26 December.
