Construction in Croatia: Volume of works up 4.6% y-o-y

ZAGREB, Sept 22 (Hina) – The physical volume of construction works in July this year was 4.6% higher than in July last year but 1.9% lower than in June this year, the State Bureau of Statistics’s (DZS) interim data released on Tuesday indicates.

The data indicates that in July the volume of works conducted on buildings was 5.3% higher on the year while works on other structures were up 3.6%.

On the month, the volume of construction work on buildings contracted by 0.2% and on other structures by 1.9%.

The physical volume of construction work in the first seven months of the year was up 3.3% on the year, according to DZS.

In July, 56.5% of the construction work conducted was on new buildings and 43.5% was reconstruction, repairs, and maintenance.

Of that, 49.6% of working hours were on buildings and 50.4% on other structures.
