SPLIT, Croatia – 22nd June 2021 – Green Sail, a non-profit organization that has been promoting the development of responsible nautical tourism in Croatia and abroad, has launched a free online course titled; Yacht Charter: An introduction to Croatia
Yacht Charter: An introduction to Croatia is a course that has been built on the combined knowledge and experience of professional Skippers and the Green Sail team, providing Skippers that are new to sailing in Croatia with a concise and informative introduction to the unique and wonderful world of sailing green in Croatia.
The popularity of sailing has increased across the globe, and today it has become a popular vacation choice, sport and lifestyle in Croatia. Sailing in a new country can be both daunting and confusing, which is why the Green Sail organisation has put together this short course to inform first time sailors in Croatia on the specifics of sailing in this country and how to reduce risks onboard.
Sailors who complete the short 20 minute course will be well equipped to set sail in Croatia safely and efficiently, with a reduced risk of damage onboard their charter yacht (and possible additional costs), increased confidence whilst sailing in Croatia and improved awareness around environmental sustainability issues.
The course not only covers technical topics such as safety equipment onboard, using your bow thruster and how to dock and moor in Croatia, but it also informs sailors about important environmental issues such as how and when to release black and grey waters, anchoring near Posidonia Oceanica, waste reduction onboard and the importance of recycling.
