Asanovic – Like Father Like Son


The son of former Croatian football star Aljosa Asanovic is set to follow in his father’s footsteps by signing with a French first division club.

Antonio Asanovic, a former Hajduk Split junior, is set to sign with French first division club Valenciennes FC, reports daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija. Antonio’s father Aljosa, who was instrumental in Croatia’s 3rd place at the 1998 World Cup in France, played four years in France in the early 1990’s, when he had spells with Metz and Cannes

Antonio was born on 9 August 1991 and is a product of the Hajduk Split youth school. Valenciennes FC are currently 6th in the French league.
