ZAGREB, 12 February 2020 – Argentine youth international Matías Godoy (18) has joined Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb from Atlético de Rafaela, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The Argentine striker, who most often plays on the right wing, will spend the remained of the season at the Zagreb club with Dinamo having the option to purchase him after that.

“I’m very happy to be here. From the very beginning, when the story first appeared about the option of coming to Dinamo, I was hoping that it would end that way,” said Godoy, who represented Argentina at U15 and U17 level.

“I know a lot about Dinamo, I know that they hold the world record for the most players who played in the finals of the World Cup and have a fantastic process with young players making their way to senior careers,” said Godoy.

Godoy is the seventh Argentine to join Dinamo Zagreb after Guillerm Suárez (2008 – 2010), Luis Ibáñez (2008 – 2013), Adrián Callella (2009 – 2013), Leandro Cufré (2009 – 2012), Pablo Migliore (2013) and Leonardo Sigali (2014 – 2018).

“I also know that Cufré was at Maksimir, as was Sigali, who left a big mark at Dinamo, and now he’s at Racing. I believe I will justify the confidence and have a lot of nice moments in Dinamo,” Godoy said.
