ZAGREB, 9 October 2025 (Hina) – The United States Senate has officially confirmed Nicole McGraw as the new American Ambassador to Croatia.
“Congratulations to Nicole McGraw on her confirmation by the US Senate as Ambassador to Croatia! We look forward to welcoming her to Zagreb and working under her leadership to advance US interests and deepen the strong ties between our two countries,” the US Embassy in Zagreb announced on platform X, sharing a photo of McGraw with President Donald Trump.
According to the US State Department, McGraw, a Florida resident and practising Catholic, is described as a dynamic entrepreneur, philanthropist, and leader in international cooperation across the fields of art, technology, and business.
She previously ran an internationally recognised art gallery and was among the first curators to exhibit Cuban art. “This experience inspired her passion for bridging cultural differences through creative initiatives,” the Department notes.
An art historian by training, McGraw later became CEO of NFT Group, where she led efforts to integrate digital art with blockchain technology. She also founded the non-profit organisation CANVAS Art Charities, dedicated to revitalising urban spaces through art.
“With her unique ability to combine technology, cultural exchange, and entrepreneurship, she is well positioned to promote American interests and diplomacy as US Ambassador to Croatia,” the State Department statement adds.
During her Senate confirmation hearing in April, McGraw outlined four key priorities for her term in Croatia: economic and cultural diplomacy, security cooperation, promoting American excellence, and protecting US citizens abroad.
