American Ambassador In Croatia: Politics Won’t Change Towards Croatia

The new American ambassador to Croatia says that Barack Obama’s win today in the US presidential elections will not effect America’s politics towards Croatia, who Washington consider a partner and leader in the region.

“I don’t predict any change. America’s politics towards Croatia is consistent, regardless if the democrats or republicans are in power,” said Kenneth Merten from Zagreb’s Hotel Sheraton before results were announced.

“We have had partnership relations with all of Croatia’s governments to help Croatia be anchored in the Euro-Atlantic integration, NATO and the EU,” added Merten.

The American ambassador was at the Sheraton Hotel where the embassy had organised a gathering to follow the presidential elections.
