ZAGREB, 9 Jan (Hina) – Adriatic Croatia has been ranked as the second most in-demand region in the European Union for short-term tourist accommodation booked via online platforms during the second quarter of 2025, according to the latest data released by Eurostat.

With 9.6 million overnight stays recorded between April and June, the Adriatic coast placed just behind Spain’s Andalusia, which topped the list with 13.3 million overnight stays.

France’s Île-de-France followed closely in third place with 9 million nights booked.

The figures highlight Croatia’s continued strength as one of Europe’s leading summer tourism destinations, particularly when it comes to accommodation booked through digital platforms such as Airbnb, Booking.com and similar services.

Eurostat’s data also reveals that the 20 most popular tourist regions in the EU for summer 2025 online accommodation bookings were concentrated in just five countries.

Spain and France dominated the list with six regions each, followed by Italy with five regions, Portugal with two, and Croatia represented by Adriatic Croatia.

The strong demand reflects ongoing trends in European travel, where tourists increasingly rely on online platforms to book short-term stays, particularly during the peak summer months.

It also reinforces the Adriatic’s status as one of the most competitive and desirable coastal destinations in Europe.
