Croatian company Metal Product wins European Business Award

ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) – The Croatian metal-processing company Metal Product, founded by Stjepan Safran, is this year’s recipient of the European Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which was presented to Mr Safran at a ceremony in Warsaw on Wednesday evening, the company said on Thursday.

The award was presented as part of the European Business Awards (EBA) competition.

The two-day meeting in Warsaw brought together over 500 successful business leaders from throughout Europe and awards were presented in 20 categories.

Metal Product, which employs over 220 people, was selected among 150,000 businesses from 33 countries that entered the competition.

“This prestigious European award is the crown of my 55-year-long career, with the support of my family, the loyalty of my employees and the trust of our business partners,” Safran said in his award acceptance speech, calling on the companies present to come and invest in Croatia.

Founded in 1967, Metal Product is based in the Zagreb suburb of Odra and in 2013 moved production to Breznicki Hum.

In their production facilities and offices of more than 15,000 m2, they use modern technologies to produce and develop energy equipment, LED lighting for indoor application and street lighting, metal structures, cast non-ferrous metals using pressure casting and more.

Earlier this year, Stjepan Safran was awarded the Charter of the Republic of Croatia by the president for outstanding contribution to the Croatian economy.
