GoatHell Metal Fest in Pula in July

11 June 2019 – An open-air metal festival is set to take place in Pula on Croatia’s Istrian peninsula from 4 – 7 July 2019.

GoatHell Metal Fest is a four-day open-air manifestation designed as a combination of concerts, entertainment, exhibitions, workshops, performances and daily events.

The festival venue is right by the sea in the Pula suburb of Vallelunga, which is nestled between the woods and the sea on the northern side of the Pula Harbour and with great views of Pula’s famous Roman amphitheater, Pula Castle and the illuminated cranes of Uljanik Shipyard known as ‘Lighting Giants’.

Bands already confirmed to play at GoatHell Metal Fest this year include German thrash metal band Destruction. Formed in 1982, Destruction are often credited as one of the ‘Big Four’ of the German thrash metal scene, the others being Kreator, Sodom and Tankard.

Legendary death metal institution from the Netherlands, Pestilence, will also perform at the festival. The band are innovators that revolutionised death metal, altered what was considered ‘progressive’ and set new standards with every album they ever released, creating a body of work that cemented the group in metal’s history.

As well as Destruction and Pestilence, there will also be 28 other great metal bands from 12 European countries performing at the festival.

“In Pula and Istria there are many legends about vampires, werewolves and ghosts (Strige and Striguns, as they are called by locals). One of the most renowned is Jure Grando, the first documented vampire in history. GoatHell Metal Fest will proudly name its stage after him, “Jure Grando Stage”,” organisers said, adding.

“GoatHell Metal Fest is a festival that gives you a pleasant atmosphere under the summer sun, offering a vacation that you will never forget.”
