Court Orders UEFA to Pay Croatian Ref €100,000

CroatiaCroatian football referee Bruno Marić has won a court case against European football’s governing body UEFA, reports RTL….

UEFA must now pay Marić 100,000 euros after he sued them because of the irrepairable damages he said they caused during an investigation of match-fixing against him. Besides ruining his reputation, Marić claims UEFA had endangered his existence by naming him as one of the accomplices in fixed cup match in 2009 between Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split.

“This is a victoy for the little guy over UEFA! He is not interested in money, the amount he was awarded he didnt even listen to that part. What was important for him was that UEFA was found guilty, who though to now that they were untouchable,” Marić’s lawyer Vladimir Gredelj said after the court ruling.

UEFA have 15 days to pay Marić his damages which the court awarded.
