Iconic Croatian Landmarks to Join Famous World Spots to Mark Earth Hour

KatedralaZagreb’s iconic Cathedral and Dubrovnik City Walls will be in complete darkness for one hour later this month, as it joins famous landmarks such as the Eiffel tower, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben in marking Earth Hour 2014…

On Saturday March 29th at 8:30pm, millions of people across the world will be switching off lights for one hour – to celebrate their commitment to the planet, the 8th year that the initiative has taken place. A number of famous landmarks, including The Sydney Harbour Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Taipei 101, Beijing National Stadium (Bird’s Nest), Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Gateway of India, The Burj Khalifa, The Church of the Nativity (Birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem), Table Mountain,Tower of Pisa, The Spanish Steps, Las Vegas Strip, Times Square, The Empire State Building and Niagara Falls, will be involved as awareness in using the earth’s resources is raised. Half a million trees will also be planted in the world’s first Earth Hour Forest in a fight against the 6000 hectares of deforestation.
