Platini Arrives in Dubrovnik Ahead of FIFA Presidential Announcement

 

uefaFormer Croatian international and now Croatian FA President Davor Šuker has welcomed UEFA Preisdent Michel Platini at Dubrovnik Airport on Croatia’s Adriatic coast on Monday ahead of this week’s 4-day UEFA Congress.

Platini is expected to announced his ambitions to run for FIFA President at the congress, which will see 54 member federations, plus power brokers from wealthy European clubs and leagues attending. UEFA will debate football’s biggest issues at the congress, including moving the 2022 World Cup in Qatar from summer to cooler months. “We are pleased that we can host such an important meeting in our city in southern Dalmatia. The whole congress will have important meaning for Croatian football, and for our country in general,” said  Šuker.
