Croatia’s tourism sector has continued its steady and sustainable growth in 2025, with foreign tourists generating €13.411 billion in revenue during the first nine months of the year, according to data from the Croatian National Bank (HNB).

This marks a 1.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024, bringing in €223 million more than last year, the Ministry of Tourism and Sport said in a statement today.

Despite the overall growth, the third quarter of 2025 saw a slight dip in revenue.

Foreign tourist income for the July–September period amounted to €9.037 billion, representing a 0.2% decrease or €21 million less than in the corresponding quarter of 2024.

Croatia’s Minister of Tourism and Sport, Tonči Glavina, said the figures confirm that Croatian tourism remains on a stable and sustainable path.

“Data from the Croatian National Bank and the eVisitor system confirm that Croatian tourism continues to grow in a stable and sustainable way in 2025. In addition to revenue growth of almost 2% in the first nine months, we have this year, for the first time in history, exceeded 110 million tourist overnight stays,” Glavina said.

He stressed that these results are not accidental, but rather the outcome of a long-term strategic focus on quality, higher added value and more balanced tourism development throughout the year.

The slight decline in third-quarter revenue, he added, highlights the importance of maintaining realistic and competitive pricing, particularly during periods when travel demand is traditionally lower.

“All studies show that interest in travel is lowest during that part of the year, which makes price competitiveness extremely important,” Glavina noted.

Looking at longer-term trends, Croatia’s tourism performance remains strong. Compared to 2016, revenues in the first three quarters of the year have increased by 83%, while third-quarter revenues alone are up by 72%.

These figures underline Croatia’s ongoing shift towards a more sustainable and value-driven tourism model, as the country continues to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s leading travel destinations.
