5 December 2025 – The draw for the FIFA 2026 World Cup took place today at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C..

The draw, hosted by model Heidi Klum, comedian Kevin Hart and actor and producer Danny Ramirez, saw 48 teams placed into four pots of 12 based largely on Fifa world rankings.

The teams who will qualify through the six play-off paths in March went into pot four.

Croatia, who started the draw in pot 2, was drawn alongside England, Panama, and Ghana in Group L.

Croatia have an impressive record in qualifying for major tournaments, and the FIFA 2026 World Cup will be the nation’s 14th major tournament and its 7th World Cup.

They will start this year’s tournament as bronze medal-winners after finishing third in Qatar in 2022.

The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026. It will be jointly hosted by 16 cities in USA, Canada and Mexico.
