Oktobeer Fest has officially opened its doors at the Zagreb Fair (Zagrebački velesajam), kicking off with a drone display that lit up the skies above the city.

The opening night drew large crowds eager to enjoy great music, food, and, of course, beer. Over the coming days, Zagreb is set to become the most entertaining city in Croatia.

Music fans were treated to performances from Mate Bulić, Daleka Obala and several other popular artists, setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable festival.

Visitors were especially pleased to find that beer prices remained reasonable. “A price of five euros is fair,” said one guest who attended with friends. “I was worried it would be like other European festivals, but this is much better — and the food is excellent too.”

Oktobeer Fest runs daily until 19 October, opening at 1 p.m. each day. Entry is free until 6 p.m., after which evening tickets cost €20.

That single ticket gives visitors access to all concerts and events across the festival tents, without the need for additional passes.

Each ticket includes a QR code, which could win lucky guests valuable prizes — including a brand-new car. Entry remains free for children under 16 and people with disabilities.

Carlsberg Croatia and Pan beer are the festival’s official sponsors, ensuring a strong selection of drinks across both the Croatian and Czech tents, where the best daily entertainment awaits.

Rijeka-based company Arctic unveiled Croatia’s first LED RGB digital façade at the event — a light installation that elevates the visual atmosphere of the festival.

They also installed the region’s largest Rolly Park, a 500-square-metre roller zone designed for fun and socialising across generations.

Families will be delighted by the large LEGO tent, Bricktoberfest, a colourful space where creativity and fun come together.

Children and adults alike can explore this playful area before heading to the festival’s impressive funfair — said to be the biggest ever seen in this part of the country.
