According to Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, the recognition represents “a major success for Croatian tourism and a strong indicator of the high level of quality our hotels provide.” He added:
“It is encouraging that hotels are recognised not only for their luxury, but also for their unique character, authenticity, and contribution to the local community. These awards inspire visitors to discover the diversity of accommodation across the country and strengthen Croatia’s global visibility and competitiveness as an attractive premium destination.”

Excellence Recognised Across Key Criteria
MICHELIN Keys are awarded based on five main criteria:
1. Excellence in architecture and interior design
2. Quality and consistency of service
3. Authenticity and character
4. Value for money
5. Contribution to the local community
Alongside the MICHELIN Key distinctions, the Guide also introduced four special awards recognising achievements in architecture, wellness, local engagement, and new openings. Notably, Villa Nai 3.3 has been nominated for the MICHELIN Award for Architecture and Design, underscoring its exceptional aesthetic value and guest experience.
Europe dominates the first global edition of MICHELIN’s hotel awards, with over 1,000 MICHELIN Keys granted across more than 30 countries. The list showcases the diversity of Europe’s hospitality scene — from grand historical landmarks to charming boutique hideaways — reflecting the continent’s enduring standard of hotel excellence.
