Modrićmania in Milan
Luka Modrić’s arrival at AC Milan has not only lifted the Rossoneri on the pitch, and to the top of the table after last night’s 2-1 win over Napoli, but also sparked a surge in shirt sales.
The Croatian captain currently leading the way as the club’s most popular name on the back of jerseys.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Modrić’s no.14 kit has outsold all others in the Milan squad since his signing, overtaking the likes of Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic.
Demand has been especially high for the club’s third kit – a striking yellow edition – which has seen a notable spike in sales.
In the days following Milan’s victory over Bologna, shirt sales rose sharply by 98% compared to the period beforehand.
A similar effect was recorded after the Udinese match, with an increase of 32%, underlining how results on the field are directly translating into commercial success.
Overall, sales of the yellow kit jumped by 44% compared to last season, with Modrić’s name proving to be the driving force behind the boom.
The Croatian star’s impact in Milan is being felt far beyond the football pitch, as his reputation, leadership, and style of play continue to captivate fans in Italy and around the world.
