The museum presents various stages of human history and population movement, starting with prehistoric Ötzi, through ancient Roman trade routes that connected Europe’s commercial hubs with the wider world, especially the Far East, pilgrimages, the evolution of travel and transoceanic migration, to leisure travel and the discovery of new destinations.
