VIDEO: New football stadium in Osijek almost ready

The construction of the new stadium has been underway for several years in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek, and it is finally close to completion.

The new stadium, located at the Pampas site, will be the impressive new home of the local football club, NK Osijek, as well as playing host to the Croatian national team.

Boxes in the West Stand include, saunas, and jacuzzis, whilst the adjoining camp will have seven heated pitches and entertainment facilities for players.

The 13,005-seat stadium, which has been named the Opus Arena cost approximately 65 million euros, but it is still unknown when the NK Osijek will play their inaugural game at the new facility.

The hybrid grass has been laid and final works are currently taking place before the stadium is ready for use. NK Osijek is expected to start the new season at the Opus Arena.

Check out the latest video from inside the stadium after the laying of the pitch which appeared on YouTube on Tuesday.
