Hajduk Split has beaten Manchester City 2-1 in the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday.

Playing at Poljud stadium in Split in front of their home fans, Hajduk opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.

City’s goalkeeper would beat Hajduk striker Antunović to a through ball  but his clearance would fall straight to Roko Brajković, who sent the ball into the empty net from 20 meters out.

Ten minutes later Hajduk would double their lead. Noa Skoko, who is the son of club legend and former Australian international Josip Skoko, put through Antunović on goal with a wonderful pass with the outside of his foot, and the Hajduk striker would shake off his marker to blast the ball past the City keeper into the back of the net.

City pulled one back just before halftime when Bobb found the back of the net with a left-foot shot from inside the box.

Both sides had chances in the second half but could not convert any of them and Hajduk would record an historic victory to advance through tot he last 8.

Hajduk Split will now meet the winner of the Borussia Dortmund – PSG match in the quarterfinal. 

The other last 16 matches are: Milan – Ruh Lviv, Barcelona – AZ Alkmaar, Liverpool – Porto, Atletico Madrid – Genk, Borussia Dortmund – PSG, Sporting Lisabon – Ajax, Real Madrid – Salzburg.
