Croatian doubles team Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavić have won the doubles title at the Miami Open presented by Itau on Saturday.

Second seeds Mektić and Pavić beat the British pairing Neil Skupski and Dan Evans in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, in the final to claim yet another title.

Mektić and Pavić have now won four titles this season after already lifting trophies at the Antalya Open, the Murray River Open and the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

Mektic and Pavić, who only became a team at the start of the year, now have an impressive 25-3 record this year.

Today’s title is Pavić’s 21st ATP title of his career and Mektić’s 12th title.

Both Pavić and Mektić are continuing where they left off last year. Pavić and his former partner Bruno Soares ended 2020 as the the world’s No.1 doubles team.

Mektić and his former doubles partner Wesley Koolhof won the Nitto ATP Finals trophy in London. Mektić was the first Croatian to capture a trophy at the ATP finals.
