2019 Croatian Emigrant Almanac to dispel stereotypes about the diaspora

31 January 2019 – The 2019 Croatian Emigrant Almanac (Hrvatski iseljenički zbornik) will be presented at the Croatian Heritage Foundation (Hrvatska Matica Iseljenika) in Zagreb next week. 

On 7 February 2019, the latest Croatian Emigrant Almanac will be presented by professor Mijo Marić, director of the Croatian Heritage Foundation, professor Božo Skoko from the University of Political Science in Zagreb, Milan Bošnjak from the Central State office for Croats abroad, editor Vesna Kukavica and Ljerka Galic.

The 436-page Croatian Emigrant Almanac, which is printed in Croatian, English and Spanish and features 110 photographs, focuses of work of the Croatian diaspora and features articles by more than 30 renowned authors who dispel stereotypes of the Croatian diaspora through their stories, Moja Hrvatska writes. 

The Croatian Emigrant Almanac is a multi-purpose serial publication, and will be available in printed and electronic form. It analytically follows the social and cultural activities of the Croatian nation in the Homeland and the the diaspora. With this demanding series of publications the Croatian Heritage Foundation endeavors to first and foremost encourage cultural exchange between the Croatian emigration and the Homeland. 

Among features on everything from arts to science, there are stories in the 2019 almanac about Croatians in Hungary, USA, Romania, Australia, Canada, Vienna, and more.
