ZAGREB, May 23 (Hina) – The 4th edition of the WTA Croatia Bol Open, to run from June 3 to June 9 in Bol on the island of Brac, was described on Thursday by the tournament’s director, Feliks Lukas, as the strongest ever according to the list of tennis players who have announced their participation, adding that he hoped a Croatian would make it to the final this year.

As the tournament will be played in the second week of Roland Garros, WTA rules do not allow tennis players among the first 50 in the world to play in this tournament and so we won’t be seeing Croatia’s top rated players Donna Vekic (WTA – 23) or Petra Martic (WTA – 31), Lukas said.

Some of the names that will attend the Bol Open include three former winners – Mandy Minella from Luxembourg, Serbia’s Aleksandra Krunic and Slovenia’s Tamara Zidansek.
