100 metre-long flag unveiled in centre of Bjelovar as town readies for big game

The central Croatian town of Bjelovar is preparing to welcome Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Ivan Perišić and the rest of the Croatian team for the first time tomorrow. 

Croatia will take on NK Bjelovar to mark the club’s 110th anniversary on Tuesday 9 October at 4 pm and on Monday a huge 100 metre-long Croatian supporters’ flag was unveiled in the town’s centre. The flag was the same flag which followed the Croatian team at the World Cup in Russia.

The third division club has put in extra seating as due to big demand has put an extra 500 tickets on sale for the match which will feature most of Croatia’s stars, Zvono.eu reports.

In 2016 Croatia played a similar match to mark the 110th anniversary of HNK Segesta. On that day a star-studded Croatia won 8-1.

Croatia meets England in the UEFA Nations League on Friday in Rijeka.
