Zagreb named to host World Rowing Cup 

 Zagreb named to host World Rowing Cup

The Croatian capital Zagreb will host the World Rowing Cup I, it was confirmed today by the World Rowing Federation today. 

The World Cup event is planned to take place on Lake Jarun in Zagreb from 30 April to 2 May 2021. This will be the first time Croatia will hold a World Cup rowing event.

The decision was made after discussions with all key stakeholders, the World Rowing Executive Committee verified.

The news was well received by champion Croatian rowers Martin and Valent Sinković.

“World Rowing Cup I in Zagreb is officially confirmed! April 30 to May 2 2021 in our hometown,” the brothers tweeted.

“World Rowing is profoundly aware of the obstacles national teams are facing in taking part in international events. However, World Rowing believes it is its duty to provide competition opportunities for athletes, when and where possible, while keeping the safety and health of rowers as the priority,” the federation said.
