Zagreb, 6 May 2026 – Tiberius Hotels has signed an agreement with Marriott International to bring a new premium hotel under the Tribute Portfolio brand to the Croatian capital.
The existing Hotel Academia, located in the Kaptol area on Tkalčićeva Street in central Zagreb, will undergo a complete renovation before reopening under the new brand identity.

The project aims to combine modern design, high service standards and a strong connection to the local environment.
Tribute Portfolio is a growing global collection of independent hotels known for distinctive character and design-led experiences. Following refurbishment, the hotel is expected to deliver a personalised guest experience while maintaining a clear sense of place within one of Zagreb’s most vibrant districts.
Renovation works are scheduled to begin early next year, with completion planned for mid-2027. The redevelopment is financially supported by Zagrebačka banka and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR).

Once completed, the hotel will offer 65 redesigned rooms and suites, focusing on comfort, functionality and a contemporary urban atmosphere.
In addition to accommodation, the property will include three conference and banquet halls with a combined capacity of more than 400 guests, alongside several flexible event spaces. These facilities are expected to strengthen Zagreb’s offer in the business and events segment.

A significant commercial space of more than 1,500 square metres on the ground floor will introduce new retail and business opportunities, contributing to the area’s urban development.
Additional amenities will include a rooftop terrace overlooking historic city facades, two private lounge areas, a wellness zone with relaxation facilities, a fully equipped fitness centre and an on-site garage.
