Zagreb Gets More Electric Car Friendly – Free Charging Now at 5 Parking Garages

Life just got easier for electric car owners in Croatia’s capital Zagreb. A handful of new locations where owners can charge their vehicles for free have just been made available in the city…
From yesterday electric car owners can turn up to five parking garages in the city, pay only for parking, and charge their car whilst they go about the business in town. There is unlikely however to be queues with only just over a hundred electric vehicles registered in the city.
Zagreb parking garages – Tuškanac, Langov trg, Petrinjska, Kvaternikov trg and Gorica – each have two spots for charging.
“The city has found a way to reduce the cost of building charging stations. This project is co-financed by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund through the Ministry of Environment. 40% and the total investment, which was 168,000 kuna (23,000 euros), was via the fund,” said Ana Preost, director of Zagrebparking.
