Croatian pizzeria ranked among Europe’s top 20 outside Italy

ZAGREB, 30 June 2026 – Zagreb’s Franko’s Pizza & Bar has once again earned international recognition after being named among the top 20 pizzerias in Europe outside Italy in the latest 50 Top Pizza rankings.
The respected guide, regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities on pizza, released its annual list on Tuesday, with Franko’s securing 20th place.
It marks the sixth consecutive year that the popular Zagreb restaurant has featured among Europe’s best pizzerias outside Italy, underlining its continued reputation on the international culinary scene.
The 2026 ranking was topped by Napoli on the Road in London, which retained the title of Best Pizzeria in Europe outside Italy following the opening of owner Michele Pascarella’s third restaurant in Soho.
Second place went to Baldoria in Madrid, while IMperfetto in Puteaux, France, completed the top three.
Other restaurants in the top 10 include 50 Kalò in London, Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona, Pizza Zulu in Fürth, Germany, nNea in Amsterdam, Sapori Italiani U Taliana in Bratislava, Forno d’Oro in Lisbon and Via Toledo in Vienna.
The annual 50 Top Pizza guide is considered one of the most influential rankings in the global pizza industry and evaluates pizzerias across Europe outside Italy based on quality, consistency and overall dining experience.
By finishing in the top 20, Franko’s Pizza & Bar has also secured automatic qualification for the 100 Best Pizzerias in the World ranking. The global list will be unveiled on 15 September at the historic Teatro Mercadante in Naples.

The 50 Top Pizza Europa 2026 awards ceremony was hosted by Spanish journalist and influencer Verónica Zumalacárregui and concluded with a celebration at Bernabéu Market, the gastronomic hub inside Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The event featured live performances by master pizza makers alongside a showcase of premium food products, bringing this year’s European awards to a close.
