Zagreb Burger Festival to be held September 2-13 in Strossmayer Square

They smelled like fish and meat, some of them were veggie, changing colours from red to green, prepared by the best burger Chefs from Zagreb, Varaždinske Toplice, Pula, Fažana, Split, Dubrovnik, and Ljubljana. Visitors of the Zagreb Burger Festival had a chance to try a few hundreds of burgers, and the tradition continues also this year.

Zagreb Burger Festival is celebrating its fifth birthday of the Festival from September 2 to September 13, at the already known address in the city centre – Strossmayer Square where burger fans can enjoy tasty delicacies to the fullest.

Due to this year’s specific COVID situation, the number of food stands has been decreased to 14, with 3 food trucks: Jamnica Gemišt&Nacho truck, Staropramen Food Truck by RougeMarin and Hug&Punch Coffe truck (27 last year). To ensure the organization in accordance with the epidemiological measures, including proper social distancing, there will be a lot of plants creating a green oasis.

What is new on burger’s field, which ingredients to mix and why is burger the king of fast-food visitors can discover by visiting this dynamic food event, reinforced by great music rhythms and beats. The opening and closing day will be reserved for the famous Croatian DJ Ozren Kanceljak and throughout the festival, a number of DJs will play various music styles like R’N’R, House, electrofunk.

Well known Croatian Chefs,  Mate Janković, Ivan Pažanin, Mario Mihelj, Marko Palfi, Goran Nišević, and Marin Medak, will offer a variety of delicious burgers and fries, while cocktail experts Marin Nekić and Adriano Nejašmić will prepare interesting cocktails and other drinks. A famous Croatian, Robert Hromalić, is going to prepare creative sweets – cakes and ice-creams, and beer lovers will find Staropramen beer, cocktails, and gins. There will be also a dance surprise, a Frenchman living in Zagreb, Nicolas Quesnoit, and dancers from Plesni Centar Zagreb by Nicolas will transform Strossmayer Square to a dance floor and teach you some basic dance steps of the popular line dance or salsa.

Festival will be open on Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thu from 12 to 23 hrs, Fri and Sat from 11 to 24 hrs, and Sunday from 11 to 23 h. The entrance is free!
