WTA Birmingham: Donna Vekic (16) Causes Huge Upset

Young Croatian tennis player Donna Vekic has caused an upset in the 2nd round of the WTA tournament in Birmingham, England when she beat world number 38 Urszula Radwanska in straight sets in just one hour.

The 16-year-old rising star adds Radwanska scalp to that of Andrea Hlavackova whom she beat at the Australian Open. Vekic needed just one hour on Tuesday to beat the experienced Polish player 6:3, 6:2.

“It was my best career win. Hope you can understand how happy I am. Enjoyed playing on centre court in Birmingham. Next match on Thursday. Can’t wait!,” said the happy teen after her win.
