Dubrovnik is gearing up for the 76th edition of its world-renowned Summer Festival, set to run from 10 July to 25 August.

Over 47 days, more than 70 cultural performances will take place across the city, showcasing drama, opera, ballet, folklore and more.

The drama programme is especially rich this year, featuring three major premieres. Audiences can look forward to Goldoni’s classic Fisherman’s Quarrels directed by Krešimir Dolenčić, Medea S. Stone and Müllerina by Martin Kušej, and Chekhov’s The Seagull directed by Janusz Kica. Returning favourites include Kafetarija, Equinox, The Tempest, and Mara and Kata by Saša Božić.

Young talents from Student Theatre Lero will present Dreams of Lost Years, while a charming performance of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Revelin Fortress will delight the youngest festival-goers.

Music lovers can enjoy an impressive line-up, including Georgian piano virtuoso Khatia Buniatishvili and soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who returns for a special recital at the Rector’s Palace.

The Philharmonix, known for blending classical, jazz, pop and swing, will make their Croatian debut.

The festival finale features a grand Opera Gala with soprano Nino Machaidze, tenor Vittorio Grigolo and Croatian bass-baritone Marko Mimica, accompanied by the HRT Symphony Orchestra.

Ballet lovers will be treated to Giselle performed by the Croatian National Theatre Ballet, and folk ensemble Linđo will mark its 60th anniversary with four performances and a special lecture.

The festival also offers exhibitions, film screenings, book promotions and discussions, including an event highlighting women’s voices in art and a new staging of Enigma Jarnović.

Tickets are available online at www.dubrovnikfestival.hr and locally at the Festival Palace box office. Discounts are available for local residents and Mastercard users.
