VIDEO: New tourism promo video for Mljet island released

Mljet

MLJET, 7 June 2019 – The latest tourism promo video for the beautiful Croatian island of Mljet has been released on Friday by the island’s tourist board, Visit Island Mljet.

Known as the mystic oasis of the Adriatic, Mljet is located on the southern Dalmatian coast with much of the island covered by forests, with the rest of the island dotted with fields, vineyards and small villages.

The western tip contains Mljet National Park, where the lush vegetation, pine forests and spectacular saltwater lakes are exceptionally scenic. The National Park includes the western part of the island, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Soline Bay and a sea belt 500 m wide from the most prominent cape of Mljet covering an area of 54 km2.

It’s an unspoiled oasis of tranquillity that, according to legend, captivated Odysseus for seven years. Mljet was mentioned in the fourth century BC in Greek writing, and the numerous Greek amphora and shipwrecks along the coast of Mljet are evidence that Greek sailors stayed on the shores of Mljet during their journeys.
