[VIDEO] Jacques Houdek to Represent Croatia at Eurovision 2017

Vocalist and one of the coaches on the show The Voice of Croatia, Jacques Houdek, will represent Croatia at the Euovision 2017, Croatian Radiotelevision confirmed on Friday.

Houdek will be up against participants from 42 other countries at the 62nd Eurovision song contest, which will take place in the International Exhibition Centre in Kiev, Ukraine from 11-13 May 2017.

“I am extremely happy and I thank Croatian Radiotelevision for showing faith in me. To represent Croatia at Eurovision song contest for me is a huge honour and I am thankful for the opportunity to represent my homeland through music”, Houdek said.

“I promise I will give it my all – my talent, experience, knowledge and love I will invest in the song which will represent us in the best way in front of millions of viewers”, he added.


The song Houdek will sing is expected to be released soon, with reports that it could be written by Jacques himself.

Croatia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 22 times since making its debut at the 1993 contest. Croatia’s best result in the contest is fourth-place finishes in 1996 (Maja Blagdan) and 1999 (Doris Dragović).
