Elsewhere at KSW 48 Stjepan Bekavac suffered an injury in the first round of his fight with old rival Lukasz Jurkowski. As a result, Jurkowski was awarded the TKO win.
The pair now hold similar wins over the other after Jurkowski injured himself during their first fight fourteen years ago. Next up is KSW 49 on May 18 in Gdansk, Poland where Croatia’s Roberto Soldic will defend his welterweight title against the undefeated Krystian Kaszubowski and Antun Racic will rematch Pawel Polytilo in an exciting bantamweight collision.
Poland based, KSW is Europe’s largest MMA organisation. Founded in 2004 by co-owners Martin Lewandowski and Maciej Kawulski, the pair of ambitious entrepreneurs grew KSW organically from the ground up.
KSW 1 was attended by just a few hundred people in a hotel function room in Warsaw but at KSW 39 in 2017 they broke multiple records by staging the second largest MMA show of all-time with 57,766 fans in attendance.
In recently years KSW began a European expansion and held successful events in London (twice) and Dublin, Ireland, and have plans to enter new markets in the near future.
For two years running KSW has been nominated for ‘Best MMA Promotion’ in the World MMA Awards and has won several prestigious accolades in Poland for their event production, marketing and organisational strength.
