VIDEO: Croatian basketball player proposes on-court in America

9 March 2019 – Croatian basketball player Ivan Bender decided to surprise his girlfriend Andrea with an on-court marriage proposal before a match in America.
With the Croatian song ‘Tajna najveća’ from Miroslav Škoro playing on the stadium sound system and his teammates gathered behind him, Bender got down on one knee and pulled a ring out to ask Andrea to marry him.
With a tear in her eye, Andrea said ‘Yes’ before the pair kissed and were mobbed by the rest of the team.
The proposal came in front of a packed hall on Senior night at Maryland University where Bender has been playing college basketball.
Ivan’s younger brother is NBA star Dragan Bender who plays for the Phoenix Suns. Ivan has now ended his stint at Maryland and is weighing up whether to continue his career in Europe or try to break into the NBA.
The video has not taken long to go viral.
