VIDEO: Croatia welcomes in 2020 with open-air parties

1 January 2020 – Croatia has welcomed in the new decade with a number of open-air celebrations around the country on New Year’s Eve last night. 

Thousands of party-goers turned out on main squares in the big cities to enjoy concerts and firework displays on the stroke of midnight to welcome in 2020. 

On Zagreb’s main square, thousands turned out and were entertained by Prljavo kazaliste and Novi fosili and an impressive fireworks display.

In Split on the Riva, Tomislav Bralic and Klapa Intrada provided the early entertainment before pop-singer Jelena Rogza kept the crowd partying after midnight. 

There was also a spectacular fireworks display which lit up the Split Riva.

In Dubrovnik, Mia Dimsic warmed up the crowd before the main attraction, Parni Valjak, took centre stage. 

There were a number of other open-air celebrations organised around the country. British hip hop/electronic dance group Stereo MC’s played on the main stage in front of St. James Church in Sibenik, whilst Nina Badric and Dubioza Kolektiv performed for revellers on Korzo in Rijeka. In Zadar, Zaratino, TBF and Dalmatino performed.
