Celebrations went from the pitch to the dressing room to the team bus and all the way back at the hotel as Croatia’s players and staff advanced through to the semi-final of the World Cup last night in Russia.
Tears of joy flowed down the face of Croatia’s coach Zlatko Dalic after Ivan Rakitic slotted home the final penalty and emotions ran strong throughout the historical night as Croatia achieved its biggest success on the international stage in the last 20 years.
“Tonight we will celebrate this success, but not too much,” captain Luka Modric said after the win.
The singing started in the dressing room last night and continued on the team bus with ‘Moja Domovina’ (My Homeland) belted out by the team. The same tune came out again at the hotel as the players went to eat a post-match dinner.
The scene was captured by Dalic on his phone. Check it out below and more videos from the bus and dressing room.
