It has been a fantastic day for Croatian gymnastics at the World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan.

19-year-old Ana Đerek won the gold medal in the women’s floor exercises on Sunday, whilst Anton Kovačević won bronze in the horizontal bar.

“The final went excellent. I am super satisfied with my performance and the result. I am so happy that everything finally clicked and that I have won my first gold medal at a World Cup and to experience the feeling of listening to the Croatian anthem on the podium,” Đerek, who is a member of the GK Marjan club in Split, said after the victory.

A total of 102 gymnasts from 25 countries were involved in competitions at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
