Vesna Pusic New Deputy PM Of Croatia

Following the resignation from Croatia’s Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Cacic yesterday after a court in Hungary ordered him to serve 11 months in jail for a traffic accident that killed two people in 2010, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vesna Pusic has been named as his replacement.

Pusic will take over Cacic as Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic’s deputy, whilst Ivan Vrdoljak with take over Cacic’s portfolio as Minister of Economy.

Vrdoljak is the current Minister of Construction and his deputy Ana Mrak Taritas has now been named as the new Minister. The shuffle means Vrdoljak moves into the hot seat of Minister of Economy left behind by Cacic, and he is ready for the task.

“It is not the first time I have coordinated a team. We have been in contact on a daily basis, this is continuity,” said Vrdoljak.
