Verdasco Ruled Out Of Croatia Open After Punching Locker

The Vegeta Croatia Open has lost its second big name in as many days after Spaniard Fernando Verdasco announced that he would not take part in Croatia’s premier tennis tournament because of a self-inflicted injury.

Verdasco, who ruled himself out after injuring his fist after punching a locker during a defeat yesterday in Hamburg, joins defending champion Marin Cilic as big name players who will be absent when the main draw of the tournament kicks off in the northern Adriatic town of Umag on Monday.
