Velimir Šandor claims Croatia’s first medal at Tokyo Paralympic Games

ZAGREB, 30 Aug (Hina) – Velimir Šandor of Croatia has won a silver medal in the discus throw at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo and his medal is the 20th medal won by Croatian athletes at the Summer Paralympic Games.

This is also the sixth silver won by Croatian para athletes, who have also won five golds and nine bronze medals at the Paralympic Games so far.

Šandor has become the sixth Croatian para athlete to have won medals at two Games.

Before him, medals were won at two Games by track and field athletes Darko Kralj, Zoran Talić, Branimir Budetić and Mikela Ristoski, and swimmer Mihovil Španja.
