Up And Coming Croatian Tennis Talent Wins Ankara Cup in Turkey

Up and coming Croatian tennis starlet Ana Savic has had the biggest win of her career today in Turkey. The 23-year-old has claimed the Ankara Cup 2012, an ITF (International Tennis Federation) Women’s Circuit event taking place in Ankara, Turkey after beating the tournaments second seed Monica Puig from Puerto Rico.

Split -born Savic, who was a qualifier for the tournament, was too good for her higher ranked opponent winning 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. The win has capped off a great year for Savic, who is ranked 285th in the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) rankings. Savic will take a break over Christmas before heading to play in Australia in January.
