Ukrainian forces defending the frontline near Kupiansk, one of the most active battle zones in recent months, have credited a Croatian-made rocket system with playing a vital role in halting Russian advances.

Ukrainian defence outlet Defense Express published a report praising the RAK-SA-12, a multiple rocket launcher system developed in Croatia.

The report highlights its precision, power, and effectiveness in supporting Ukrainian troops facing persistent Russian attacks.

The RAK-SA-12 is operated by a fire support unit within Ukraine’s 3rd Border Guard Detachment. Designed for targeting wide areas at ranges between 800 and 8,500 metres, the system can unleash all 12 rockets in under ten seconds—saturating enemy positions with intense fire.

Ukrainian crews say the RAK-SA-12 has proven especially useful in neutralising enemy infantry, vehicles, and fortified positions. Its rapid fire capability is key to disrupting Russian formations mid-advance or during regrouping.

In the Kupiansk sector, where Russian forces frequently use massed assaults supported by drones and aircraft, Ukrainian artillery units equipped with the RAK-SA-12 have consistently held the line. The rocket system’s impact has helped prevent breakthroughs and inflicted notable losses on advancing Russian troops.

Crews operating the Croatian system have been commended for their swift coordination and composure under pressure. The article credits both their technical skill and the system’s responsiveness for its success on the battlefield.

The rockets’ ability to strike concealed enemy positions—whether hidden in tree lines, trenches, or hastily dug shelters—makes them a valuable asset in suppressing enemy preparations for further attacks.
