UEFA Hands Down Punishment to Croatian FA for Crowd Trouble in Italy

Croatia22The Croatian Football Federation (HNS) have been fined 80,000 euros and will be forced to close part of Maksimir stadium for their next home EURO 2016 qualifier after UEFA handed down punishment for crowd trouble caused by Croatian fans in Italy last month…

A group of Croatian fans twice disrupted Croatia’s 1-1 draw with Italy at Milan’s San Siro stadium on November 16 when they threw a number of flares onto the pitch. On top of the 80,000 euros fine, UEFA’s disciplinary panel ordered that the 8,000-seat north section of Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb be closed when Croatia hosts Norway on March 28 2015. The Italian FA didn’t get away scot-free, they were fined 13,000 euros.
