UEFA Champions League: Dinamo Zagreb Secure 1st Leg Advantage Over FC Astana

Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb have come away with an important 2-0 away win over FC Astana in Kazakhstan on Tuesday. 

The all-important first away goal came in the 39th minute when Mario Budimir banged home after midfielder Dani Olmo skilfully rounded his defender and laid on an inch-perfect cross. 

Dinamo had chances to further increase their lead, most notably Olmo in the 59th minute when he was left one-on-one with FC Astana keeper Eric but his shot was well saved. 

Olmo did, however, get on the scoresheet in the 85th minute when his shot from 25 metres out rocketed into the back of the net.

The return leg will be played in Zagreb at Maksimir stadium on 14 August. 

If Dinamo Zagreb advance they will face BSC Young Boys from Switzerland for a place in the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League. Check out the goals below:
