Trams and buses free on weekends

Good news for public transport users in Zagreb who wish to enjoy Advent in the city over the next five weeks.

On Tuesday the City of Zagreb confirmed that all city buses and trams will be free during weekends.

Starting on Friday 1 December, all ZET buses and trams will be free for passengers travelling in the 1st tariff zone. No tickets will be required from Friday afternoon until Sunday at midight until 7 January 2018, Vecernji list reports.

Visitors will also be able to travel on the funicular to the Upper town for free every day until midnight during Advent.

Zagreb’s Christmas Markets were voted Best in Europe for the past two years in a row, with the Christmas lights this year being switched on on Saturday 2 December.
